PDA RESOURCES

ACP PDA - Portal: Ethics Manual
Reviewer Comments: "This resource is the PDA version of the Medical Ethics Manual, from the American College of Physicians. The resource requires a palm reader which can be freely downloaded from the site. It is a useful resource as a reference. The navigation was somewhat cumbersome, but overall is a thorough reference. In issues related to geriatrics, end-of-life, decision capacity, and DNR discussions are useful." [See details]

Clinical Statements / Guidelines (PDA)
Reviewer Comments: "This website from the American College of Cardiology Foundation is a portal for many guidelines related to cardiac problems commonly seen in the elderly. Topics include: management of atrial fibrillation, heart failure, valvular heart disease, angina, and acute myocardial infarctions. The application for perioperative management is extremely well done and is easy to use. One can enter certain variables such as age, prior history, CAD symptoms and the application provides a decision tree. Although these do not replace clinical judgment by a clinician, it can prove very helpful at the bedside. The applications are provided for the Palm OS and Pocket PC and can be downloaded as a bundle." [See details]
